The epidemic of animal cruelty is quickly spreading and affecting our society, so we must join together and utilize our skills to create a beneficial community for the sake of all living things. We must project our voices and help vulnerable animals escape abuse and neglect. Animal abuse is mainly targeted on domesticated animals such as dogs and cats. According to The Humane Society of the United States, 65.4% of abuse is on dogs and 18% is performed on cats. We must make these percentages drop or possibly disappear. By putting a stop to these careless actions, we can create a safer nation for us all. People are all to blame. When will an animal ever say, “I’m a dog, why don't you slap me?" never, exactly. People who abuse and neglect any animal must know the consequences awaiting them. Learning about this issue won't hurt you; it'll hopefully increase your awareness about this problem. It is extremely crucial that we recognize people who do these things to animals. This step can only be fulfilled if we take the time to gain further knowledge about animal cruelty. That's when organizations such as: ASPCA, PETA, The Humane Society of the United States, and PAWS come to play. These organizations are constantly trying to raise alertness to people in order to stop this problem. Animal cruelty isn't the world's biggest problem, but if we don't take the necessary actions, it will be.
