Curtis was born on May 9, 1999 at Huntington Memorial Hospital. He is currently any eighth grader (Class of 2012-2013) who attends Jefferson Middle School.
Curtis is a very enthusiastic person who, for some reason, likes attending school and learning. He has always had a funny personality and can induce humor into any situation, good or bad. However, sometimes, people would say that he is over realistic and constantly thinks too much about his future. He relentlessly talks about the SATs, high school GPAs, and extracurricular activities that might bolster his college resume.
As a math and science student, Curtis is superior. He uses his photographic memory skills to ace tests left and right. This special skill enables him to know the location of important text and pictures that might help him in case he forgets. This important skill developed over childhood when he decided to take up art class. This class contributes to most of his photographic memory because it conditions his mind to learn visually. Overall, in science and math, Curtis is getting percentages in the high nineties.
However, as an English and history student, Curtis is struggling. Specifically in English, Curtis is suffering from not having good word choice or a wide range of vocabulary. This sometimes makes his essays seem choppy. In History, Curtis finds it hard to memorize certain important dates and events that might show up on the test. In some special cases, he would make sure that he memorizes the small events and totally forget the major contributions to history.
One of Curtis's favorite hobbies include playing tennis and swimming and weightlifting at YMCA. In terms of mental, these activities help him escape the harsh realms of school, the #1 place where he stresses the most. It prevents him from thinking too much about tests or homework that might make his brain explode. On a more physical aspect, tennis and swimming maintains Curtis's health and allows him to furthere his figure. Tennis helps him lose tons of calories from all the fatty and sugary stuff he eats and the weightlifting conditions certain muscles that are important for his groundstrokes and volleys. To top off his exercise, he swims to make sure his muscles wouldn't harden, one of the many causes to stun your growth.

Visual Presentation Designer

Megan L. was born on a windy October day. Despite being born later in the year, she has never let her age define her. She always found a way to get things her way. At only 5 years old, her parents forced her to play piano. Megan enjoyed the first year of playing, but as the music became more intense, so did her father. He pushed her extremely hard until she reached her breaking point. As she continued her childhood she had very memorable experience. Disneyland is probably one of the most exciting amusement parks that attracts many children. Amongst these wild "animals" was Megan. At 6 years old everything about Disneyland overwhelmed her, so when her parents lost sight of her for 1 minute she was lost. It was the worst feeling in the world for her. Fortunately her parents taught her correctly so she ran to the cashier of a nearby gift shop and started crying as she told her story. The kind woman stayed by Megan as her parents came running back. Several years past and no other memory has beaten that one.
Today, Megan is hard-working 13 year old who is very optimistic. Like many, she can be considered an adventurous person when it comes to trying new foods. Many people describe Megan as a positive and athletic person. Which is weird since she considers herself negative sometimes. She played soccer since 4th grade and is still playing today. No matter how much she doesn't like her brother, she gives him credit for inspiring her to start playing soccer. Megan never excelled in any particular class, but is very interested in science.
Megan's inspiration is One Direction. She is a Directioner and claims that they stole her life. She believes that her dreams can come true like One Direction's. They were 5 ordinary lads with 1 dream, and now they are the biggest boy band in the world. Her favorite movie is Matilda and her favorite book is, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Other than those books, she will rarely try something new.
Since she is very optimistic, Megan has her whole future planned out. She is going to marry Niall and become a well known anesthesiologist, in her dreams. It's quite obvious that wouldn't happen, but she does hope to become an anesthesiologist. Other than what career she wants to pursue, Megan has nothing else figured out for her future. She doesn't even know what college she wants to attend.

Samantha L.
Infographic Designer

Samantha L. was born at Good Samaritan Hospital on February 4, 1999. She was said to be named after the girl 'Samantha' from the movie "The X-Files" as well as after her great-grandfather Samuel. She feels
that everything in her life, good and bad, has led to her to where she is today. As a quiet child, she attended USC preschool since she was 2. Though quiet on the outside, inside she'd be full of passion and wonder. Nowadays she still isn't the most talkative out of the group but she is surely quite loud when around her acquaintances. Mother being an RN and her father being a clinical research physician, Samantha has always wanted to enter the medical field. She admits that when she was younger, she found a way to cheat while playing the game of "LIFE" so that she could always either get the doctor or the veterinarian career card in the game, because even as a small child, she felt that these were the jobs she were destined for. Samantha recalls being enrolled in many things, ranging from tap and ballet, to
violin, piano, viola, taekwondo, soccer, gymnastics, and swimming. She has always been an avid reader and has always enjoyed at least 'attempting' to create and write her own stories. But most of all there is one main thing that is vital to know about Samantha if you are even to know her at all. She is a complete 'Potthead". No, read it again, not as in the drug-head but like one who is extremely infatuated with the Harry Potter series. In some ways, Samantha can be depicted a bit as Hermione. A straight A student she may be, she is utterly terrified of failure and always strives to do better. When it comes to education, she finds it hard to let go of what has happened in the past. Samantha is a very awkward person. Yeah, just get used to it. She has proved herself multiple times over that she is also extremely indecisive. It took her close to 3 hours just to think of a username once. Moreover, she had this random phase a year ago where she became extremely interested in the Titanic (the ship itself) after literally crying her eyeballs out when watching the movie. She scanned almost every website and ended up learning a ton of truthfully unneeded] facts. Her favorite songs have always varied from year to year, but whenever she panics, she'll never reject listening to slower/classical music. Samantha has always been described as ‘mentally mature’, even as a young child. She sees things differently than others her age and does not always seek the easiest path. She grew up watching a show called “The Book of Virtues” where a wise buffalo (she always thought a lion would fit a bit better :3) would help these two kids with their problems and teach them the virtues of life. Nowadays, she no longer says that “Harry Potter is WAYY better than Twilight” or whatever. They are two completely different plot lines and two completely different styles of writing. Both of them are technically great in their own way. What you feel is your favorite, does not mean it is the right way to go, or the best. Going beyond all of that, Samantha has always had a love for animals and at one time, had 21 pets of her own- yes, all at once-. She even had a silky chicken once, and is planning to buy one for her younger sister, Sabrinna. She distincly recalls that two of those animals included 2 mockingbirds that didn't even sing and a snail named Sluggy who ended up getting stepped on by a friend. Yay.
Sarah P.
Radiolab Producer
![Picture](/uploads/1/5/3/1/15319986/2500488.jpg?194)
It was October 8th 1998 when Sarah P. was born in the Huntington Hospital. She joined her mother, father, and older sister, Kathleen, in a family of four living the busy city of San Gabriel. Growing up, Sarah was a fairly shy girl who kept to herself only occasionally playing with her sister now and then. Even so it was her imagination that kept herself busy. She had always shown a sense of creativity, whether it was drawing pictures on every surface she could reach or building towers and buildings out of Legos, Sarah was always using her hands to create something new. Although she had the creativity that she did, when Sarah entered preschool she found it hard to express herself easily like she usually did, but upon making a few friends she started to open up towards others, one friend being her first, Olive. These two spent hours together, Sarah even began ballet along with her friend. She preformed in 2 performances at the Mission Playhouse but soon quit in first grade, greatly regretting it, to take on Tai-kwan-do. Soon after entering Wilson Elementary School Sarah was finally able to fully come out of her shell and meet many people and friends that she can be her crazy self with. Sarah enjoyed her elementary school days the best because it was a time where she could relax about everything and the world was a playground. Handball and monkey bars was how she spent those days.
As she got older, Sarah began taking an interest in different things that still had aspects of creativity, like cooking and acting, especially because she was able to share and enjoy these interests with her friends including the ones she met in middle school. Cooking was something that Sarah was able to do on her free time. When Sarah did begin middle school she found yet another thing she enjoyed more than anything else, and that was music. She would listen to music for hours trying to find different genres of music that she liked and began experimenting with the piano, Sarah was the happiest when music was playing. However middle school wasn't all fun and games because Sarah felt like she needed to do better in school so she worked hard to become an A student and with that hard work and the help of friends she was rewarded with two great years of middle school and continues to hope that this year will make it a third.
